This Slackers Zipline is so fun. So here is an honest review from installation to 5 months of use…

Installation: The instructions are succinct and brief however if you want/need more instruction there are plenty of videos online. Me and a neighbor did the whole thing ourselves and it was surprisingly easy. The hardest part is trying to tighten the line by hand. We have had to tighten the line two times over the past 5 months but I don’t think we will need to do it again. I considered using a come-along to tighten the line more but I think it would be too fast and dangerous to stop, so hand tight is plenty.

We have a slope in our back yard where over the 80 -85 feet it drops about 45 inches. We have our starting position at around 11 feet and the end position at about 7.5 feet high. With the slack in line my 6 and 9 year old kids can easy get off the seat with a small drop to the ground.

Use: The starting tree is bent away from the direction of the zip line so I have a ladder leaning against the tree and it works perfect for now. I have a bunch of wood from an old deck that I will use to build a platform around 8 feet high. That is the scariest part for the kids is going so high up the ladder. We have a lot of slack in the line, more than they recommend but if I make it tighter they will just go too fast. The seat is great and I wouldn’t feel comfortable with kids using this without it. We regularly have 10+ kids using the zipline a few times a week.

There is a long rope that hangs off the seat so the kids can pull the trolley to the starting position. They have gotten the trolley stuck into the line connector where I had to use a rubber hammer to get it unstuck. I have wrapped a bunch of duct tape around the line connector so the trolley doesn’t get stuck anymore.

I am considering a bungee brake for the end of the line and if I do that I will tighten the line more to make it faster but for now it’s good.

Service: I contacted Slackers about a question regarding one of the wheels on the trolley and they responded with an answer and support within hour of my email. I have never had that good of support from any product I have ever purchased.

Overall: I am a customer for life because of the service and quality of the product. I strongly recommend this product over any of those competitors.

Thanks for the great family memories Slackers!
